2019 schedule:

Artist Series: a pop up dinner | Sunday, February 3 | Laurel Packinghouse 

Join me for a night of edible storytelling as I host my first pop up dinner since The Paisley Notebook became a national award-winning pop up experience (winning the ‘Culinary Tourism Experience’ category at the Canadian Tourism Awards 2018).

Launching a new series of collaborative pop up dinners, the idea is to re-imagine the dining experience and what it means to support local by teaming up with talented artists from across the Okanagan.

In partnership with Kelowna Museums Society, this first dinner in the 3-part series teams up with UBCO Master of Fine Arts Alumna, Meg Yamamoto to turn our communal long table into an art installation. The 4-course menu is inspired by looking at the Okanagan as not only as a beautiful place, but a delicious place, too.

Following this dinner, the ‘Artist Series’ will include two additional collaborations. Dr. Lauren Tomkins, owner of West Kelowna Integrative Health Centre will be turning me into a science experiment to give insight into diet and health. While musician, Chloe Davidson will transform the dining experience into an edible songbook to accompany the story of the menu.

‘Sourced’ is a farm-to-table dinner series that is re-imagining what it means to eat with hyper-local dinners that tell one edible story at a time.

Taking you on a road trip across the Okanagan, every host venue is different, so every dinner is different and so are the unscripted and unfiltered stories too. The series is all about trust – in your farmer, the local ingredients and the person cooking for you, so every time the menu is a surprise. Think of me as Morgan Freeman to guide you through things, every step of the way.

Explore Lake Country by bike with Giro Okanagan, meet Aman at one of the stops along the way and end with a pop up dinner amongst the orchard at Claremont Ranch Organics hosted by Molly and Matt Thurston

Inspired by new beginnings with first season farmers and soon-to-be first time parents, Renee and Chris Stewart, who focus on garlic, peppers, berries and perennials (plus, they have two goats)
